The accreditations listed on this page are testimony to the investment made by Fire Bright to ensure that the services we provide to our customers comply with all industry regulations, including the Reform Order (Fire Safety Order)
To ensure that Fire Bright continually improves as a business, our engineers attend extensive internal and external training courses for a minimum of four weeks each year. This guarantees that they are up-to-date with all aspects of Fire Safety legislation
Fire Bright is also proud to be a member of the BSI (British Standards Institution). Our customers benefit from this membership, as they are regularly informed of the latest updates to Fire Safety Legislation

BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment)
SP203-1 Modular Scheme for Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
Because today's business world places increased emphasis on responsibility and self-assessment, being associated with a BAFE registered provider is a valuable commercial asset. Fire Bright is regulated by NSI (National Security Inspectorate) to provide all four BAFE SP203 modules, namely

The Health and Safety Assessment Scheme
Within the contract services sector, the employing contractor has a legal obligation to ensure that all organisations used are able to prove that they operate sound Health and Safety policies
Fire Bright fully understands the importance of adopting sound risk management and promotes a high standard both within and external to our business. Our SAFEcontractor accreditation was gained following a third party examination of our Health and Safety procedures and assessment of our safe practice track record
It therefore confirms our competency and, as a result, simplifies the selection criteria for those responsible for appointing a contractor with peace of mind
Industry Training - BS5839-1:2002
Fire Bright engineers are fully trained, to the standards prescribed in BS5839-1, to carry out the following
- Fire Detection Design, covering all aspects of the design and consultancy services for Fire Detection Systems, as required to meet the Fire Safety Order 2005. Our advanced knowledge of current and future protection systems allows true value engineering to fulfil the specific needs of our customers
- Installation and Testing of hard wired fire detection and alarm systems, including the component parts of the system and on to testing the system in preparation for the commissioning engineer
- Fire Alarm Maintenance and Servicing - all aspects of periodic and preventative maintenance, false alarm management and certification is provided
- Advanced Alarm Commissioning, including all aspects of this work, from testing components and circuits, operation of ancillary equipment, through to the final documentation and handover to the client and 'responsible person'
In addition, the following also apply
- Fire Risk Assessment (Responsibilities and Procedures) - the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) placed the requirement for fire safety in to the hands of the owner, manager or employer of non-domestic premises; they are deemed to be the 'responsible person' and have a duty to produce a Fire Risk Assessment.
Fire Bright engineers are trained to act as a specialised 'competent person', providing assistance and advice to the 'responsible person' on Fire Risk Assessments, as well as the associated responsibilities and legal requirements - Service & Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers - our engineers fulfil the competency requirements for registration, based on BS5306-3, Servicing and Maintenance and BS5306-8, and demonstrate competence under the Fire Safety Order (2005)
ICEL (Industry Committee for Emergency Lighting)
Fire Bright engineers are certificated to BS5266-1 to advise on the design of emergency lighting systems
We can assist the 'responsible person' in ensuring that their emergency lighting is compliant with the needs of the fire risk assessment and fit for purpose in the event of an emergency
JIB ECS (Joint Industry Board - Electrotechnical Certification Scheme)
H M Government and Industry have emphasised the need for industry-wide certification schemes to confirm the levels of competence of properly skilled craftspeople The ECS is fully recognised by, and is administered by, the JIB and the Scottish JIB on behalf of Unite (Amicus Section), the Electrical Contractors' Association and Select
Fire Bright engineers have attained the required standard of ECS Health & Safety Assessment set by the Electrical Contracting Industry
